Profile

The owner of a local outdoor furniture brand, looking for a factory that could manufacture compact lean-to greenhouses in bulk rather than one at a time.

Situation

The client already had a supplier, and reaching them was the problem. Calls went unanswered and questions sat for days, which is fine when you are reordering something standard and a real risk when you are not. These greenhouses were meant for gardens too small for a freestanding one, where the greenhouse leans against a house or a boundary wall and every centimetre of width is already spoken for, so the client needed a proper conversation about the sizes and about what shape the greenhouse should take. Those answers never came, so the client went looking for a manufacturing partner who would pick up the phone.

DiBiBi Solution

Glendon found DiBiBi and wrote to us by email, and we replied quickly and then kept replying, which mattered more than anything else in those first weeks. Questions about the greenhouse were answered by the people who could actually answer them instead of being passed along, and we worked through the decisions that shape a lean-to greenhouse: how much height is needed at the low side and the high side so someone can stand and move without stooping, where the vents and windows have to sit for a narrow greenhouse to stay cool and stay usable, and which of those changes reach the frame.

DiBiBi’s service was fast, and the communication was even better. They answered my questions very quickly and made the revisions to the lean-to design without delay.

Our engineers then worked out the frame, the roof pitch and the fixings, including the loads the structure has to carry in the conditions the client described. From there we developed a design with the interior height the client asked for, a layout that suits the way a lean-to greenhouse is really used, and the features the brand needed in order to sell it.

Customer Benefits

The client got a compact lean-to greenhouse designed for real gardens rather than a shrunken version of a big one, and a supplier who answers email while decisions are still being made. That opened up the customers the brand had been turning away, the ones with a small yard and no space for anything freestanding.
